If that tv program is still accurate a backboor is not the way they look for data. I wish I could remember the program accurately but I can't. I want to try to be more accurate with my postings.
Maybe you mean PRISM?
I am not the only one to feel like or know something about this.
NSA Built Back Door In All Windows Software by 1999 Washington's Blog

Quote:
A careless mistake by Microsoft programmers has revealed that special access codes prepared by the US National Security Agency have been secretly built into Windows. The NSA access system is built into every version of the Windows operating system now in use,
I have also done coding, I know how easy it is to create these doors and how hard they are to crack open if you dont know the codes. MS developers have all the know how, the expertise and the human capital resources they need to do such a thing inside such a complex OS, their own people design it and know how to do it.

People may also use a disassembler and try to see what's inside, how it works.

This is not the first time that the NSA has partnered with Microsoft during Windows development. In 2007, the agency confirmed that it had a hand in Windows Vista as part of an initiative to ensure that the operating system was secure from attack and would work with other government software.
NSA helped with Windows 7 development | Computerworld

That is so funny reading that line, 'so the OS would work with other government software', do you understand?

I've always assumed that there must be a backdoor in everything - built in or else by design flaw.

MS wont trivially poke into your PC for fun, although a government might want to check you out, see what your doing or saying about them, etc... to asses your risk to them.

Part of our homeland security efforts, don't you know.
they look for patterns of behavior, key words to identify persons of interest.
They caught one terrorist cell here cause the cell did not hit the send button, they just all logged into the same account and used the draft email thinking if it was not sent, could not be discovered, LOL!

Big mistake, yes it was for them, but lucky for us they are not too bright some of them.

Callender, I was going to ask is there a backdoor in Linux but from reading the forum listed below, I got the impression that it is possible but unlikely because Linux is open source. Callender is that the impression you get as well?

Oh, what the heck, let them spy on me. One glimpse of this fat, old lady's naked body will sear their eyeballs and put them in therapy for the rest of their shortened lives!

Backdoor
Maybe there's no publicly known backdoor in Linux? Does that mean that there isn't one? Somehow I don't think so. I can't really comment with any expert knowledge as the only times I use Linux is usually for system repair outside windows and on a very few occasions in the past I have used Tails booted from USB for privacy reasons.

Edit:

An interesting read on the subject:

Is there spyware in Ubuntu? Answered.

NSA Asked Linus Torvalds To Install Backdoors Into GNU/Linux - Falkvinge on Infopolicy
NSA Wanted Backdoor Access In Linux, Says Linus Torvalds' Father - OMG! Ubuntu!
Supposedly Linus said no to the NSA.
And think that Linux is worked on by developers worldwide with so many different very smart eyes on the code, unlikely to have not been seen. And would have been removed.

You serve your country as best you can - I kinda like weaponizing Lady Fitz. All those arm dealers are going to be champing at the bit to get a 'Clone Fitz' in their arsenals. Love it.

How to revoke my Win10 reservation
On a win7 machine, I did a reservation for W10. This was done at the first chance Win10 was (6/30) offered. Just about every day, W10 tries to install and it fail's. I have tried "all" the common suggestions to get it to install but ends up with failure. I was interested in letting it install...

Is there a WMC replacement with the all functionality for win10
There are a few features that I just can't give up at the mo in Windows Media Centre, but probably not the ones you think. Format stretching, I watch a lot of old 4x3 tv + zoomed movies. I only have a 27 inch monitor in the evenings I sit 10 feet away, so the 3 zoom/stretch settings makes a huge...
