Man , Apple would make an absolute killing if they did that .

Some of these security holes seems a person is more likely to get hit by lightening a hundred times than be exploited by them.
They all have the exact same description = Remote code execution... yada.....

That works for you and lot of people who are not interested in the build your own desktop machines.
I build my own and even change out CPU's in laptops to get the best bang for the $. Apple is not on my radar and never will be.......unless they release their OS into the mainstream I would install it and give it a go.

Using a Apple that is locked into hardware and software I don't think is the answer most are looking for.
I personally want to choose my operating system and then pay for it. That is the same with my hardware. Choose what I want and build it, change it, adjust it or anything else I choose to do.
Of course I will have to agree with the user agreement with programs just like we have always had to do.

I recommend Zorin OS above mint. It is much more user friendly.

I recommend Lubuntu, personally. It's what I switched to after the whole Windows 10 fiasco happened. Well, technically, I dual boot with Windows 7 and Lubuntu, but I rarely boot to Windows 7 these days.

Lubuntu has been an interesting experience, and I find from that experience that Lubuntu is a fairly user friendly version of GNU/Linux. And I'm not a geek either.

I also use openbox and i do like LXPANEL's features and customizability. I dont however go for the LXDE themes. However the themes are the last things to act like opinion's fact, the panel is definitely decent, especially with the new "run" feature which in my mind replaces the start menu search.

Good luck with Linux though
