My computer has never run better then it does with the Windows 7 OS. I have run XP Pro SP3 and Vista Ultimate SP2 and neither performed as swiftly and smoothly as 7 does on my system.

MS really did something right this time!
You got that one on the money there! I've been pushing things on first the beta then RCs while still and XP/Vista dual boot on at the time until finally dumping both of the two previous versions entirely!

I presently am loading up both the 32bit along with the 64bit retail 7 and haven't been running into any of the setbacks seen with XP and sluggish at times feel with Vista there. MS finally got their act together for 7!

Vista ran good here for the 2 1/2yr. stretch without seeing 10% of the problems seen with XP. XP was always the one that seemed to see more games and general use programs hang or crash there while Vista saw few locks.

Any version can still a program itself run into a snag however while 7 definitely has an improved over Vista even further crash control.

Some hardwired chassis keys don't work, and I'm still looking for drivers for an MS card reader and an SD driver, even though the SD one is supposedly installed and working after a couple of reboots. Most of the FN keys work. Otherwise, an excellent OS. Oh and the WEI seems a bit broken in terms of aero graphics and gaming scores.

It also depends on how you configured the network settings when installing 7 as well as looking at what is seen under network adapters in the device manager. Capability wise I can run old 2000, XP dsl usb adapter drivers on the 32bit 7 but not on the 64bit there. I had a change of ISPs entirely and still needed to buy a separate updated modem for the new ISP to connect with the 64bit.

But with Vista support already is this on the 32bit or 64bit 7 there?
I finally got my ZTE stick to work as explained in this forum and just as I get home after work, what do I find in my mailbox? A letter from ZTE telling me I had to upgrade my firmware to comply with Canadian Standards and that, Oh! BTW, we have also updated the drivers to work with W7................

    .

What`s wrong with the WEI. Mine seems to report correctly. I assume you know that the Win7 WEI goes up to 7.9 (in lieu of the Vista 5.9). I guess they changed it just to confuse us and now we are comparing apples and oranges.

Life is full of surprizes isn't it?! Well at least you have the firmware updated as well as the OS. But it looks like things are working out well for you there.

As in an aero score of 4.4 and a gaming score of 5.5.

b/c it is a mobile platform. that is part of your problem right there.

Hell, on my desktop rig (see specs to left) I only have 7.7 for both of those - and that is with both cards running SSC specs....

That would probably be right. I've noticed the gap isn't as big with ATI mobile gpu's.
