What`s wrong with the WEI. Mine seems to report correctly. I assume you know that the Windows 7 WEI goes up to 7.9 (in lieu of the Vista 5.9). I guess they changed it just to confuse us and now we are comparing apples and oranges. As in an aero score of 4.4 and a gaming score of 5.5.
I have a similar situation | My System Specs |

That isn't right - games would be more stressful than Aero. Probably why Aero seems a bit wonky too. SP1 will probably fix this. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio Z46GDU OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86-64 CPU P9700@2.8GHz 1066MHz FSB Motherboard Sony branded Memory 6GB DDR3 1066MHz Graphics Card 9300M GS 256MB Dedicated (Speed) + Intel4500MHD (Stamina) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 13.1' WXGA Screen Resolution 1600x900 Hard Drives 320GB 7200RPM w/ 16MB cache Internet Speed 1MB/s |

My Black Friday purchase (Sony laptop) is the first device I've ever used Windows 7 on. Having come from Windows XP on my desktop and never touching Vista ( ), I must say Windows 7 is very pleasing. I like XP, but Windows 7 is fantastic, and I can't wait to see what more it has to offer by spending more time checking it out. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-NW235F/W OS Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit CPU Pentium Dual-Core 2.10GHz Memory 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 (expandable to 8gb) Graphics Card Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD Monitor(s) Displays 15.5" LCD widescreen display Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Keyboard Logitech Wireless Mouse Logitech Wireless Cooling Targus Cooling Pad Hard Drives 320GB Serial ATA hard drive (5400 rpm) |

I've been running Win 7 pro on a old Asus F3JR, which came with Xp pro and I am very happy with Win 7. I skipped Vista altogether...
My F3Jr runs better than it did with XP pro which is amazing.
I've been using Windows since Win 95 and I have to say that i never thought that MS would come up with a stable OS! I was wrong. 7 is rock solid! It just works.. | My System Specs | | |

I miss those old Duke3D alien blasting days seen with 95 and 98SE here while 7 is on top of the list for desktop versions by far! I think you will that at least 99% of those here at SF as well as other places are actually impressed at how well 7 turned out!
Vista was still quite a bit more stable then the previous versions that came before it there. But definitely lacked quite a bit in the performance area simple from the MS attempt there to fill it up with all new but too many features! 7 will certainly turn things around overall. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, XP Mode, W8 RP VM, Linux Mint Debian 2nd OS HD- 7 Pro x64 second case CPU AMD Phenom II X4 975 Deneb 3.6ghz - 965 on new mini tower Motherboard Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Memory Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1600 1.5v 16gb - Mushkin on 2nd build Graphics Card MSI HD Radeon 5750 1gb - MSI HD Radeon 6450 on mini tower Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer - Realtek onooard 2nd case Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen - HP 20" widescreen mini towe Screen Resolution 1440x900 native - 1600x1024 on 7 Pro x64 build Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor - MS Comfort 3000 on second build Mouse MS Trackball Explorer - A4TECH dual scroll wheel trackball PSU Corsair 750TX - primary / Corsair CX600 - second Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible / NZXT Vulcan mini tower Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives Primary Ultimate x64 build-

I did no do much on the new computer that I bought last summer, at discount because it came with Vista, I was waiting to receive my free copy Windows 7.
At last I received it and installed Windows 7 yesterday. Having worked on XP for many years, I must say that right at the beginning I hated Vista.
I first put my adaptation problems in the fact that I not that young anymore, and might have problems adapting to something new.
But as soon as Windows 7 was installed, some problems I had were automatically solved (like my Home Network between this computer, my older desktop and my laptop that are still on XP)
I still have a few issues, but I am sure this forum will help me.
Anyway, already, a HUGE difference with Vista! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DELL/Inspiron OS Windows 7 |

It's definitely a hugh difference period when you start going back to the 9x family up until now! Here I started off with pre Dos even into Dos and 3.1 later and moving on through the 9x bunch to XP, Vista, and now 7 with 7 being the top choice! | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, XP Mode, W8 RP VM, Linux Mint Debian 2nd OS HD- 7 Pro x64 second case CPU AMD Phenom II X4 975 Deneb 3.6ghz - 965 on new mini tower Motherboard Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Memory Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1600 1.5v 16gb - Mushkin on 2nd build Graphics Card MSI HD Radeon 5750 1gb - MSI HD Radeon 6450 on mini tower Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer - Realtek onooard 2nd case Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen - HP 20" widescreen mini towe Screen Resolution 1440x900 native - 1600x1024 on 7 Pro x64 build Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor - MS Comfort 3000 on second build Mouse MS Trackball Explorer - A4TECH dual scroll wheel trackball PSU Corsair 750TX - primary / Corsair CX600 - second Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible / NZXT Vulcan mini tower Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives Primary Ultimate x64 build-
