Installed Windows 7 on 3 Computers already with no problems. Two were clean installs and one was a new build. Very happy with windows 7, Although my wife hates changes to her laptop.

You just hit the nail RIGHT on the head! I suppose a lot of people do not realize Microsoft's marketing scheme. Ever notice how ever since the end of the NT branding around the days of Win2k that MS releases a crap OS followed by a good one? A "tick tock" pattern sort of like how Intel does with their CPUs. We had Core 2s, then revamped Core 2s just like the Pentium 4. First came it, then the Pentium 4 HT. That is exactly how I knew what to expect from Windows 7. By analyzing their past releases and promises and figuring up such a pattern. Sometimes the pattern skips, but it generally holds true. For example there was Windows 98, then Windows 98 SE. MS plans their OSs way ahead of time. Why do you think that is? Simple. It is a marketing ploy. Release a crap system that still has advantages over Apple's Mac OS followed by a good one. A double upgrade for many people making even more money for Microsoft.

If you guys are happy with your Windows 7 OS, am not. Look, I have two laptops which I have both upgraded to Windows 7. I had my gateway 32bit upgraded by a computer repair shop due to error in downloading the service pack 1 which is a prerequisite before you can upgrade to Windows 7. I did the upgrade on my Toshiba
    64bit which is a hassle.

I had both running in Windows 7 OS and the only thing good is speed in booting. both laptops are unstable exactly the same characteristic. Unstable, overlapping text and size varies from site to site. When I log in to my google mail the texts became bigger compared to the text when I'm on my homepage. When I log in to my yahoo mail, the texts became very small and the tab in the left side overlapped. I have document files which I cannot open and play which used to be okay with both laptops on Windows Vista. More, I have video files which I can play on both laptops now my Windows 7 media player cannot play it.

I would appreciate it if anyone can help me on these problems.

    Thank you.
I am sorry you are having issues with Windows 7. Regarding your issues with text when using the internet I suggest you change your Internet Explorer Appearance settings: Change Internet Explorer General settings.

I would also run the Windows 7 troubleshooters, this can pinpoint some of the issues your programs may be facing: Troubleshooting in Windows.

I assume you upgraded all your drivers on both computers, this is a general source of issues regarding the upgrade.

    Good Luck!

I actually never had a problem with XP Pro or Vista Home that was not self-inflicted. With my new computer coming with Win7 Home Premium I decided not to experiment and stick with what works.

    Win7 works very well indeed!

I upgraded from Windows Vista to 7 5 days ago and can still not find any help to my Nvidia driver problem. Horrible experience...Windows 7 looks awful on the integrated video card!

upgrade from vista to windows 7 clean install on my desktop and love it. super fast boot, its stable, i have more free ram. Bought a laptop with windows 7 already installed and i hate it. I have program hangs/freeze and sometimes it hangs logging off and states "windows can not shut down due to attempt to play log off sound" Im sure its some hardware/driver issue but its strange a new pc made for windows 7 would have such problems. btw they are the same version of the programs that i have on my desktop that run fine. So i don't know. But again very happy with it on my desktop, wish it worked as good on my laptop.

I went from Vista to Windows 7 a few months ago and I love it. I have never loved an OS so much. The taskbar itself is great and you can customize it a lot. I also notice a huge increase in speed from Vista.
