    You did very good Bob.
Now all you have to do is teach your daughter how and when to make Backup, Images, and or Clones.

    Daughter

I love her, she don't have a clue. A computer is like a home. It needs cleaned and attention to the components on a regular basis.

    Hi,
Yea my policy is if it's not classified as Important = don't bother
Callender posted a way to use task scheduler to zap any task for ceip which is probably more reliable than letting m$ do it via a update :)
Whatever happened to that promised Windows 7 convenience rollup?
    Completely agree mate.

    "Included in this update:
Reduces the network connections on a Windows system that doesn't participate in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP)."

I've always found this to be a contradictory statement anyway. Why would it need to reduce network connections if it's switched off in the first place?? Surely it shouldn't be using any network traffic anyway?
My understanding of that if you have CEIP turned on it will use more network connections, if you turn it off it will reduce network connections.
Check out the link I posted since you installed this new update were all of the tasks enabled
    I'm sure they were :)

I haven't done this yet, I am having some issues integrating windows 7 sp1 with the roll-up. So, I will install the roll-up manually, when I have some extra time to do a clean install of windows 7 sp 1. My system requires some drivers to be installed before the roll-up is installed. I don't think the roll up-will work because of another windows update that causes issues.

Need some guidance here; Without any prompting on my part I found this file saved on my desktop.

Simplifying updates for Windows 7 and 8.1-simplix-update.png

Looks legit, but there's something I don't like about this; It "just happened" to show up on its own, without me okaying the download.

Update setting is "check, but let me decide whether to D/L and install"
Mbam and Sophos says its clean.

I see the date created is a couple days ago, this post from SIW2 is from about a week ago in this thread,

You are probably better off using simplix

Or you could use wsuss offline WSUS Offline Update - Update Microsoft Windows and Office without an Internet connection

I doubt it was downloaded by Windows, that site is in Russian but I downloaded it to have a look at when SIW2 posted it.

    Defenestration

is the act of throwing someone or something out of a window.[1] The term was coined around the time of an incident in Prague Castle in the year 1618, which became the spark that started the Thirty years war.........
