I am still wondering how many users that tried out W10 & get counted as a W10 user, but went back to W7. I went back to 7 on both my laptops. Even after the 30 days, as I had done image back ups prior to the W10 install.

Yep those stat's would not be worth it for Micro... to keep tract of
I blasted back to 8.1 on my Acer it is better than 10 in many ways
Group policy works and there are no adds.... and I can control the updates getting installed in a normal way
I already had Start8 and woke it up
8.1 is good enough.

I think it's a fair bet that Microsoft count both your laptops as having upgraded to W10.

A good statistician will word their findings carefully to be sure to maximize their results for whomeever they are working for, or at least make their findings more applicable to what they were hoping to uncover. For instance, if 100 people installed 10 today, then the stat would be that 100 people installed 10. If those same people rolled back the next day, but 100 other people also installed 10 the same day, then technically, 200 people have installed 10. It is technically a true statement as per the wording of "installed" whereas, "installed" dose not have to indicate whether that means installed currently or, just simply installed at some point in time. Now, if they used the words, "currently running 10", then that would be incorrect, but again, wording, sample size, correlations and deductive analytics can grant a good statistician the power to make anything look really great, or pure evil.

Well, .......... you can use whatever metrics you care to, but the simple fact is......... 10 is the future. It WILL beat out 7/8/8.1 in due course. It WILL be the OS the computer noobs (hey, we all were at one point) will learn on in the months/years to come. Facing reality is hard to do sometimes but THATS the real world. 10 (and its offspring) will be around for awhile and in ever increasing numbers. I personally only know one person who still uses 7, my 77 year old stepmother.

Lets see how many W-10 are paid for versions. That is the true test.

W-10 is going to stay. I don't see any reason to be in a hurry to get it.
I believe many are like me and waiting until more bugs are worked out of W-10 and Microsoft removes some of
the spy B/S. I would like to be able to turn things on or off and those setting stay that way even with added updates/upgrades.
Many will get sucked into W-10 on new purchases of computers and laptops.
I'm waiting for the Class Action to stop manufactures from making hardware that doesn't accept Windows 7.

I think there is little doubt that Windows 10 will take over even for new personal builds.
The only thing for me is that I cannot see any significant benefits going from 7 to 10 unlike going from XP to 7. In fact I'm not sure all my paid software is compatible and/or transferable to a Windows 10 system. I may need to buy new software licenses - but it's only money isn't it

100% agree with that comment! 10 has a lot of features I just have no interest in using.
I'm not saying I'll never switch, but as it stands right now, I see no reason to. Haven't seen anything in 10 that's made me want to switch at this moment in time.
