Wonder how many hacks that will break.

I'll let them run, as the only hack I have at the moment is for Win Mail and since installing Outlook I haven't been using it.

Thanks Airbot.

They go on to say....

The updates will be clearly described as a test update in Windows Update, and they will not install automatically. The updates will be offered interactively. This means that users will be notified of available updates, but they won’t install automatically. Users will need to go to the Windows Update control panel, select the updates, and manually start installation. These updates will simply replace system files with the same version of the file currently on the system, and will not deliver new features or fixes.

Yep. They're testing for the sake of testing.

They don't say which files will be replaced. Could be anything that doesn't record user settings. Say the file that has the watermark in it or ... as it will actually replace that file with the one that is *supposed* to be there. Just a thought. I guess if there's a lot of complaining about what update did they'd know it was working, lol.

Who knows, it could be some covert operation to gather some kind of sensitive information. Besides the info they already gather from error reporting, CEIP, etc...

It is exactly that!

I have it on "Good Authority" (aka - total hearsay or completely made up), that MS is using this to gather secret user info and to install keyloggers and a hidden SMTP server so that all user info is gathered.
They are looking to see what percentage of users surf Pr0n so they can use that as leverage against users switching to Linux or Mac..
Either that or they're gathering whatever Pr0n pix they can find on users systems, for their own secret librarys. (insert heavy breathing here)

I don't believe for a second that these are a "Test" as they claim, there has to be some nefarious undertone to this. STAY AWAY!!!
