Want to become a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), one of the company's elite volunteer army of tech experts?

Then now's the time to brush up on Windows Vista and Windows 7, the upcoming cloud-computing platform Windows Azure and virtualization software such as Hyper-V, according to a Microsoft executive in charge of the MVP program. And plan on sharing that knowledge as widely as possible on developer and user forums run by Microsoft and others.

There is no way to "apply" to be an MVP. The only sneaky way is to get recommended by existing MVP's or Microsoft personnel. A good way is to have a Web page devoted to commputer savvy items, with a couple of long blogs on the virtues of Microsoft..
Helping on forums, as the link says, obviously is a contribution, but unless that recommendation comes along, futile.
I am never sure, looking through the membershio pages, what the score is. It is only membership for one year (unless you get renewed) In spite of this, there appear to be literally hundreds of MVP,s on the various forums at present, who's names have appeared for some years as MVP's. Assuming I have got the correct impression, maybe Microsoft, if they wish to enlarge the award, could enlarge their genuine membership by making the "Awards" last longer than one year?

Three desktops and one laptop with good specs..
OS
Vista and now 7 in 32 and 64 bit.
Azure? So is that Microsoft's answer to Google's Cloud OS? Interesting way to run a PC.

I would certainly dust off an old PC for this, but would that just make them net machines?

Like with no DVD drive or hard drive how will you install or play games?

Just in case your wondering I looked up Google Cloud OS and it says that it just needs a processor and keyboard+mouse. That's cool, but scary. lol.

yep only way to get in is if you are recommended by a MVP and then you are judged by MS personel and other MVP's...
but hey you do get a one year acess to MSDN (or was it technet i forget...:p) so it is a sweet deal you are getting for free....
