already planning for windows 8? isent it a bit soon?
Windows 8 has been in planning since 7was in development...this is no shock as each company that produces products that improve on other products have future revisions in work with up coming revisions...

If they just started planning Win8 right now...that would be a true shock
but why? its the first i hear of it.. why do they need to work on win 8? shouldent they be working on win 7 to improve it? not that it needs much improving

Did it occur to you, that there are multiple teams working on Windows 8 and Windows 7?

Personally, I'm tired of people saying 'its to soon', I'd rather have MS working on it now to make it a great OS when they release it. Would you really like another bloated OS like Vista (yes, I said it)?

I wouldn't consider myself 'bashing it' more or less, speaking the truth.

My experience was different from yours I am guessing, many issues, slowness, even on this laptop which should be enough to handle Vista decently (apparently not!).

They have an OS development team in place. It takes years to produce a new OS.

Think of an automaker - once the new vehicle is out, its up to different teams to support it and fix it. Someone has to be working on the next product or there won't be one.
