Have it your way then.
I personally dont have a pirated OS, i got Win7 pro through tafe with MSDN Academic Alliance. and then my Friend got a Technet liscence and gave me a pro key (Legal?) software wise, it depends usually i will pirate it and try it, if i like it i will buy it, if i dont i will remove it and delete all the files
i can't say anything about testing illegal torrents, i do it quite often with various software and games, that i intend to purchase to make sure i like them. and of course ripping my video collection to my media center pc probably wasn't legal, but i'll view my media how i choose in my own home, and i'll confess i helped my sister get every disney movie we couldn't find legally for her kids, but really many of those have been out of circulation for ages, when is the last time you saw puff the magic dragon on dvd?(if we could have found them we would have bought them)
Interesting comments: They could be condensed down to: I know its wrong to steal and make some efforts to avoid it. But if I have a good reason I do steal and justify it my mind.
Let me be honest. I have in the past bootlegged software. This makes me a thief. Period. I have stopped doing it because the justifications became hollow and no longer soothed my mind.
I no longer steal software not even for kids. Adults should model ethical behavior. Kids do not benifit from stolen property.
If I do steal in the future.... I will just admit to being a thief and skip all the justifications.
