There have not been many updates at all. Of course, to be fair, Microsoft only releases standard patches once per month.. Therefore, we have only had 3 patch Tuesdays (2nd Tuesday of the month), since the product released.
    Agreed, but 8 patches?

What can I say..it hasn't had many problems and had a ton of testers with the beta and the RC1.

It will take a good year considering updates, certain new hotfixes, and other things found will have to be taken into consideration once the SP is compiled. I expect a few things will still need to be fixed with that once out for the retail 7.

7 is the best version you could simply run out of the retail package without fuss to come along in a long time going back to the 9x family however. Back then you saw OSR2s or second editions to clean up all of the glitches and add support for new things then. With 2000 MS moved to service packs rather then 2nd editions.

Quite a number of businesses are still running XP...even though Vista has had 2 service packs. :)
There's word that Vista will be seeing an SP3 probably around the time SP1 is ready for 7.
Wouldn't at all surprise me. Vista is still going to see a lot of support from Microsoft, as it should.
