You know I remember a story about 30 or so unreleased windows 7 patches that where supposed to be released when windows 7 was RTM.

I still have these patches, not one of them shows on Windows Update yet

hope they have a patch that fixes the problem with wireless connections that stop working after a while
Haven't had that happen to me.. Are you sure its not your WiFi itself, rather then windows? Could even be the driver just doesn't work properly in Windows 7.
Nope.. it's windows 7. can't connect to wireless at work even though it worked when I first installed windows.. stopped connecting after a week. Lost the ability to connect at 3 of my favorite places to hang out when I need to get away from the kids.

I'm running Win 7 Enterprise on a Dell E6400 laptop with the broadcom card, and haven't had any issues with wireless at work or the office and I run on wireless a ton in both locations.

I know it's not the hardware either. When I boot into any version of linux (I have a few bootable flash drives with different distros on them) I can connect within seconds in the same places where I get a "limited connectivity" message in windows 7. Same thing when I connect my XP HDD and boot to that one instead

How many people think that this is some huge marketing ploy to get more people into windows 7?

I only hope it's not because Windows 7 has some really big problems.
    please explain.
Most business wait until the first Service Pack to come out before making the OS jump. Since Windows 7 is not really having any problems, I bet it is just a way to get them to "feel better" and make the jump to Windows 7 with a Service Pack out.
this does not explain the so called big problems abuttino thinks 7 has.

Nah...don't expect it before the end of 2010.
    Thats still quick LOL :)
That'd be over a year from Windows 7's final release in Oct. 2009.. Since when is 1 year and 2 months quick for a company to release something?
for microsoft that is extremely fast.

A few security updates were just canceled due on tuesday if I remember correctly. I caught that in one of the new articles I was going through. Microsoft Won't Fix Windows 7 Crash Bug Next Week - PC World

Quite a number of businesses are still running XP...even though Vista has had 2 service packs. :)
There's word that Vista will be seeing an SP3 probably around the time SP1 is ready for 7.
Wouldn't at all surprise me. Vista is still going to see a lot of support from Microsoft, as it should.
2000 saw some what 5 SPs total. XP's SP3 on the other hand was due to all the delays in seeing Vista finally released there. Support for that will be dropped in July however. That leaves Vista and now 7 plus Server 2008 picking up the slack.
