Cant WAIT until the 32 bit OS is scrapped. And software just works without the conflicts, problems and installation issues.
Maybe because most internet users still use 32-bit browsers
Put 64bit browsers as the default and there will be more of them with every new computer and OS sold.
Most people just run what they're given.
128 bit is around the corner they wont bother with 64 bit
IMHO 64 bit Windows is a way of giving Vendors a chance to catch up so 128 bit system can be brought out. This will take a couple of years. Vendors of all kinds need time but they will follow the lead of Microsoft. I would bet a Big Mac that Microsoft and Intel have little talks behind closed doors on a 128 bit system. SHUSH don't tell anybody.
128 bit in the OS is rediculous. People say that 12 Gig is too much (Not me but there was a long thread about it here recently). When exactly are we going to need more than 16 million gig of RAM then? It WOULD be purely a marketing sceme.
The pain to users and developers of the switchover is too much for zero gain of ANYTHING. We've been switching to 64 bit for over 10 plus years and it's not done yet, and yet is of GREAT utility. 128 bit on the OS level is completely useless and will be for decades.
Lets hope we can just be done with 32 bit ASAP and settle into a nice stable 64 bit univers for at least the next 10 years before the marketeers uselessly wind us up on 128 bit :P
