this really isn't surprising considering that MS is really pushing the digital medium as the future. and the price break is pretty nice too
This morning, Microsoft released more details about its pricing for Office 2010, which is due in June 2010 (my colleague Mary Jo Foley had the numbers and details bright and early).
What was unusual about this announcement is not the numbers themselves but rather the sea change they represent for Microsoft’s traditional selling model. With Office 2010, we’ll see some fairly radical changes. I see three trends at work here:

I'm still using Office 2003. Until they give me the option of changing ribbon menu to standard menu; forget it.
I'll buy it like I always have, in the store with cash, and a fat box.
My wife's company is only now rolling out Office 2007 for general use....
I thought it was going to be later than June?? (I was thinking September/October/November lol!!) Glad to see it is moving forward to June of 2010..I Love the beta of Office 2010, so I will most likely buy it...:)
Hi there
Beta version of 2010 is good EXCEPT for Outlook 2010 with IMAP -- still to many problems and Outlook is a MUST HAVE app (work etc etc).
They need to possibly do a Release Candidate before final release.
I like the rest of the suite however.
Cheers
