I don't understand, if it isn't something being developed for a service pack, what is it. Do they want everybody to buy Windows 7 a second time?

EDIT: I posted before getting to the end of the thread, so my question appears to be redundant, yet it deserves to be asked a second time.

The evolution of Windows client and server operating systems past the RTM deadline of Windows 7 on July 22nd, 2009, is a process kept under a tight lid in Redmond. However, while Microsoft is not sharing any details related to the development of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows 8 with the public, some pieces of information do manage to find their way out into the wild. Case in point: Build 6.1.7700.0.100122-1900 of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Screenshots and information of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Build 7700.0.100122-1900 have been leaked and are available outside of Redmond, first for the server OS and now for the client.
