Your welcome, jfar.
Hi Nigel,
I got a little popup in the notification area this morning. It may have been there before and I didn't notice. I generally turn auto updates off. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS420 OS Vista Ult 64 bit Seven Ult RTM x64 CPU Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.40 gigahertz Memory Crucial Ballistix 4x2GB PC2 6400 Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS 256 MB Sound Card Creative SB X-Fi audio Monitor(s) Displays HP w2207 + HPvs15 Screen Resolution 1680x1050 + 1024x768 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Mouse MX Revolution Hard Drives 2-WD5000AAKS-500 GB

Actually I have Windows update set to inform, but let me decide. Avast definitions are auto. The rest I don't worry much about. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS420 OS Vista Ult 64 bit Seven Ult RTM x64 CPU Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.40 gigahertz Memory Crucial Ballistix 4x2GB PC2 6400 Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS 256 MB Sound Card Creative SB X-Fi audio Monitor(s) Displays HP w2207 + HPvs15 Screen Resolution 1680x1050 + 1024x768 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Mouse MX Revolution Hard Drives 2-WD5000AAKS-500 GB

Oh yes, my Avast is automatic but with the volume set to a bearable level, still makes me jump if I'm deep into whatever I'm doing though .
As for general policy with updates I follow a routine that I've been using for years.
One thing from working with servers that I've found useful in these days of leaving machines on 24/7 is I always reboot the machine before I install anything major. That way you know if you can't boot after the install it's definitely caused by the update, and not something I tweaked a week ago . I always re-boot after a major install even if it's not requested for the same reason | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Real World Computing (Me + a little help from Acer) OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 + x86 + Windows 8 x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1035T 2.6 GHz Motherboard Aspire M3400 Memory 4Gb PC10600 DDR3 1333 MHz Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 315 512MB Sound Card OnBoard - Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Philips 32" HDTV, (HDMI) + 26" TV (VGA) Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @60Hz + 1360 x 768 @60Hz Keyboard Microsoft Wireless 800 or Stock Acer, (depends where I sit) Mouse Microsoft Wireless 800 or Stock Acer, (depends where I sit) PSU Stock (400W) Case Acer M3400 Cooling Stock Hard Drives 500 GB Seagate ST3500418AS SATA II

I usually reboot after anything major also, just to be sure.

I was going to put it up the other day but because its been out for a while I thought it might of already been up. Assumption is the mother of all .....................I know. Not been using FF for a while now as I've took to chrome 2. I did test it though and still don't think It has gained much ground in terms of speed.
On another note does anybody know what my problem is with regards to this Fifa 09 Graphics Error
