Microsoft Still Flushing $2 Billion A Year Down......

Quote:
Microsoft's Windows 7 is blowing the doors off, but the company's online division continues to piss away a fortune.

How much, exactly?

Nearly $2 billion a year.

$2 billion a year is actually a lot of money, even for Microsoft. And it puts the 3 points of market share the company's search engine Bing has gained since last summer's launch in perspective.

That would be far more dramatic if Bing was there only online service.

We therefore reiterate what we've been saying for the past three years: We have seen no indication whatsoever that Microsoft will ever build a successful Internet business. And we don't think we ever will.

Are you sure that's an official Microsoft ad? I can't find their name in there anywhere.

"Bing goes the internet" is Microsoft's ad campaign for bing.

I know it's an ad campaign, I was just questioning the authenticity since it lacked the MS logo.

Microsoft Tortures Little Kids With Bing Jingle.

Maybe you’ll recall when I ripped apart the Bing jingle winner back in August. It was bad — real bad. But its creator, Jonathan Mann is a talented guy, and even made a jingle ripping me, which was both better than the Bing one, and funny. Sadly, Microsoft now controls his Bing jingle and is subjecting little children to it.

As you can see in the video below, Microsoft has forced a bunch of middle schoolers in Pennsylvania to learn and perform Mann’s Bing song. The horror. It’s hard to watch this without immediately thinking about parents who accept money to allow their child to be sponsored. Is this the future of branding?
