Hacking contest organizer: Safari will fail first

    Posted: 18 Feb 2010
“Safari will be the first to go,” said Aaron Portnoy, security research team lead with 3Com TippingPoint, the sponsor of Pwn2Own. Portnoy is the organizer of the contest. “[Safari will] be on Snow Leopard, which isn’t on the same level as Windows 7,” he added as he predicted Apple’s browser would crumble when the action starts March 24.

    Is that surprising?

For the last few years people always rip apart Apple first because they say it is so easy lol.

If I recall correctly, last year Safari lasted mere seconds.

P.S. I think that the lack of hackers wanting to target Apple products makes the developers less inclined to find and fix security holes.

Apple is overpriced and useless - and yes Safari has no place on a PC. I'd rather use IE.

ummm jailbroken iphones were hacked in a mass swoop fairly recently. apple is beginning to make itself a target, and i think if the ipad see's much success then you may start seeing more attacks directed at them. apple fans are misguided thinking they are invulnerable, they just haven't become a huge target yet. but it's only a matter of time.
