Microsoft has always a big mouth. so read " BIG microsoft announcement", as "BIG mouth announcement". A loud sound and nothing else.

What is big and hidden? everything is open and leaked. Thanks to those nice MS staffs who leak it.

Released, leaked....different words, but in this case meaning the same thing.

you said it. I agree with you. Only the difference of words. only different for those users who rely on that information should reach them but not for us who always seek vigorously for the information earlier than the official announcements.:)

ok... excuse me for the interruption (i'm a mac user and a lot of ppl banished me for that on windows-related forums), this release candidate seems like a service pack, and it'll be available through windows update service? well then if it is available like that, means that it won't be available for buying, but for upgrading? or did i misunderstood everything :-?
anyway, my friends and i can't wait for this RC, they blew my head off with their excitement when i gave them this announcement :))
anyway, isn't it a lot more easier to just do a clean install than following all those steps i saw on the internet? you'll lose your data, yeah, but at least any rookie can do it.
keep up the good job Microsoft! i love your Office:mac 2008, really helps me a lot. you're not so bad as my mac-mates told me )
    Cheers!

Ummmm WTF.....who said it was going to be available through update???? It is and will be an ISO...not a service pack or an update...but a complete OS.

Best you do a bit of reading etc before posting....especially if you are going to admit to being a Mac person straight up....lol

Popularity para shows the difference b/w Mac and windows. Need not to add my personal comments here. good things are always taken by people hand to hand. windows still holds 90%+ share of the market.

well i didn't say that i'm a mac person... (and you were complaining about MY reading...)
and there was a rumor that it'll be available through windows update you know... so don't pick on me so straight without reading a bit what i've said. if you were in my place, or if you were on a mac forum, you wouldn't understand either so well what's there. never mind, thanks for replying to my question, i really found the update version a bit stupid though, no one would recreate an OS from scratch for free
