Anyone who buys Dell or Toshiba or HP need to know the site Welcome | The PC Decrapifier This software works well. I bought my son a Studio 15 for Christmas and was shocked at the amount of crap that Dell includes. I wanted to just reformat and load up Win 7, but he was reluctant, so I just removed the crap.

Bloatware is what they make a lot of money off. That is why they will keep on doing it. The fact that now Recovery CD/DVD is provided just makes it ten times worse.

I will never ever buy Dell.

Had one many years ago that I was quite happy with. Tech support was in those days. Thought I'd try one again.

    Probably not again.

this thread is kinda sidetracking, yes?
    lol
I had it out with Dell many yrs ago, and vowed to never buy one more product.
Not until I received my Inspiron 15 (1545) and I'm impressed so far.
Their tech support is terrible. period.
At least Dell is saying positive stuff about Windows 7, so now they can sell more products thanks to Microsoft hard work.

early adoption of windows 7 by companies such as Dell will help bolster wider public sales. Would be nice if dell bit the bullet and went over to 64-bit.

When I bought my last Dell, I got two CDs for $10. One held the drivers and one had the operating system, XP. For me, it's the only way to go.
