Here's the latest News from Microsoft Springboard Series Insider: Volume 2, No. 3

Welcome to March. What is March known for? American Red Cross Month, International Women’s Day, National Reading Day, Pi Day, and the month that everyone becomes aware of Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) 2010 and the release of both Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) 4.6 and Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V) v1 Service Pack 1 Release Candidate.

For those not familiar with these products, they provide some great new ways to package, deliver, and manage locally-installed and virtual applications in ways previously inconceivable. This can help you keep desktop servicing more streamlined and modular while adding flexibility to desktop provisioning for Windows 7 and beyond. Also, with the latest virtualization technology, your organization has options that were not available when you planned your Windows XP deployment ten years ago, options that make the job of today’s IT pro a lot easier.

March also marks the launch of our new Springboard Series/Windows Client TechCenter experience on TechNet at www.microsoft.com/springboard.

We’ve made a lot of very visible improvements to the user experience to make it easier than ever for you to quickly find the resources and tools you need to plan for and deploy Windows 7, and manage your current operating system (OS). Here are some of the improvements that are a little less visible, but no less important:

Troubleshooting tools on the main home page and product home pages
Downloads and support options grouped by OS version
Download finders on all download pages
Integrated learning tools to help with product training and certification
Video “flip books” specific to top tasks and lifecycle phases
We’ve also refreshed all of the content on the site to make sure that we continue to provide you with the right resources, at the right technical level, at the right time in your adoption and deployment experience. For our IT professionals worldwide, we have been busy localizing more of the articles behind the site—all to provide you with a richer experience.

We look forward to adding more new resources, tools, and articles to the site in the near future. If there is a topic or task we haven’t covered, and you are looking for more guidance, please e-mail us at winpro@microsoft.com with your suggestion.
