As I said, thieves will always find a way to prove they are right, and no better what everyone else is wrong. They will attempt to prove themselves to be nice people by finding a way to lie their way out of a situation regardless of how wrong it is. "It is not fair that Microsoft makes all that money, and I don't get any of it, so I will steal their property, and that goes for Adobe, and Corel, etc.." "They owe the people (me) for just being here." Get my point.

So have you never recorded shows of tv or the chart hits when you were younger? Maybe on cassette tapes from your mates bedroom? Because if you never you must be the only person in the world not to have done so.

I guess were all thieves according to your logic.
Or ever lent a book or magazine to anyone? Perhaps you have thumbed through a magazine on a stand or a book on the store shelf? Did you purchase it? If not then the IP rights of the author(s) have been violated. Ever seen a VanGogh, Cezanne, Monet or a da Vince? Did you remit to the artist or the estate thereof? I didn't think so.

The IP rights scenario can be taken to absurd proportions. In Canada, we pay a substancial tax on every blank cassette and CD, which is remitted to the recording industry and now they want more!

The legal priorities in this crazy world in which we live are broken. They allow the banks to pillage our assets with no recriminations, major humanitarian injustices throughout the world go ignored, billions of our taxes poured with gay abandon onto the black hole of war, millions crying for food and clean water...yet corporate power and legislation get stronger still....we're doomed.
It's been going on forever. There are books from the Bible which were excluded. Truth is golden. Information is at risk. But love your wife and your child(ren) as they are the only thing worth worrying about while you are active and healthy. After that you can get into politics and the policy of truth. Ever look into the word policy? It means police-ing. So there it is. Let the kids play outside. Let them feel freedom, sunshine. Let them eat dirt and love it. Cause when the get older they will remember what it feels like. And honestly, there are more oldsters here with status than kids. That's what elders do. As I become one.

Again RST101 you have proven my point. If I cannot prove it is right then I will blame someone else. I will point out how stupid they are my saying they recorded a movie or television show (sorry never owned a VHS or Beta machine).

If that doesn't work then lets point out the greedy corporations. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't need to steal their products. They set the prices to high, so in order for us lowly peasants to get some of their products we have to steal it that is the only way we will ever get what we want.
lee the only one that seems to be unable to have a civil conversation about the issue is you. this is the second tread that i have had to chide you on.
might as well save your breath staple head - this lee is obviously a higher form of human being than the rest of us lying , stealing , unworthy , poor peasants - must be a lonely existence being so perfect

Alright come on guys everyone is entitled to their opinions. And some people hold themselves to a high moral standard than others. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with anything on this post except for the personal attack on someone who has chosen to disagree with your opinions. It's starting to get to the bashing point. Fabe

i agree totaly with you fabe - everyone does have the right to disagree & hold thier own opinion , but if you read some of the other posts you will see this person attacking other posters by calling them thieves , dishonest people & peasants now surely they have the right also to hold thier opinions as well without being insulted in this way - all i was doing was giving this person some of ther own medicine - but i do agree with your post totaly - as long as everyone is behaving in the same way towards each other if this person insults others then they must expect a little retribution in return - it just go to me a little when he insulted the guy who asked the question about recording something on the tv by insinuating by doing this he was some kind of dishonest unworthy person - i mean we all occasionaly record a film or sporting event to watch at at a later point - it doesnt make us bad people, thieves or peasents - as im sure you will agree - i do appreciate the input though - maybe i should have just ignored him/her - just annoyed me a bit - lol

    agree with thefabe here...
he may have his own opinion here
i will agree that by just being suspected and not accused of doing such things is just wrong especially by not having a court trial...
reminds me of guilty (easy to do) until proven innocent (which may impossible to do)

What was that about judgment and soap boxes?

    - leave that to god
No, leave that sort of thing well and truly out of it...

Regardless of somebodies personal view point, someone else will always disagree, no matter what. It's human nature.

As for judgments on the behavior of others - realistically no-one has the right to judge anybody else, but it still occurs nevertheless. Again, that's just human nature.
