Have you ever heard of aiding and abetting a crime?
They are the poster boys for this.

The whole purpose of the site is to violate copyright laws.

Yes it is, but the way its done, only the actual seeders can be held responsible!

Anyway the amount of press they just got will make them thier next million, i bet they are laughing at you all, drinking a nice cup o tea in a nice open jail.

PS: the purpose is $$$, they don't care what you share, just that it attracts millions of ad hits.

After all, like you have put it, YOU have told me so it must be true.

Seriously, look up the word Pirate and see what it refers to. In fact, I would guess that being a Pirate would cover most of the things you say are bad anyway.

I think share a game is a bit of an understatement isnt it? Why, if they havnet done anything wrong are they in jail?

best laugh ive had all day. I am shaking my head but not for the reason you think.

As ive said, im not against warez at all but i do know its wrong. You do the crime you do the time etc.

Cheers...Mate LOL.
Maybe the fact they are up against big powerful organisations. Or how about for political reasons. I could go on and on. And you obviously no nothing of law because stealing is taking a physical possession, and if you have not noticed downloading something that is digital is not physical.

It's also actually copyrighted material and not anything to do with real pirates that live on the oceans, you been watching to much jack Sparrow.

If my little statement "was the best laugh you've had all day" then I pity the people around you because you must lead a really tedious life. lol

as many others have said.. if PirateBay is guilty, then so is google, msn, yahoo, and every other method of search available on the internet.

Agreed, i think the thing that has caused them more trouble is the fact they have advertised as a "pirate source" as to speak.

You can infact find many more torrents on google.com than you can on the pirate bay, and some..

And i h8 to be the bearer of bad news but torrents and p2p was invented as a means of sharing that can NOT be pin pointed to individuals.

My argument would be, "i have not shared even one illegal file, but i can give you 2 million ips from our logs that have, come back to me when you have delt with them and maybe i will take you more seriously."

As for the actual charge of "making copyright content available" is/was that a real law or just invented for TPB??

If you lend your car to a bank robber for the purpose of robbing a bank, you go to jail for bank robbery. It's only fair, IMO

All criminals
Try to justify and rationilize their crimes.
Yes it is a law
Yes you are violating it

i read somewhere that if you bought a car capable of going over the speed limits and you get caught would you sue the company that made the car? No, belive me TPB sentences are mearly an example. Guilty or not the industries had to make an example out of them. A detrant if you will. If anyone thought for one minute they would found innocent then you need to think again. However they knew the risks and lets be honest a year each, considering wht they were up against i think they got off lightly. How many of us could go up against the likes of sony, MS, apple and suchforth and actually stand a chance in hell. I suspect not many.
