Microsoft: Google Chrome doesn't respect your privacy.

Microsoft is going on the offensive against Google, accusing the search giant of creating a browser that does not respect user privacy. The company posted a video, embedded below, on TechNet Edge with the following description: "Watch a demo on how Google Chrome collects every keystroke you make and how Internet Explorer 8 keeps your information private through two address bars and In Private browsing."

Don't use Google products. Have always thought of them as just a little pushy (not really sure why). Back in the early 2000's (around 2002-2004) Google give people a chances to opt out of Google's search engine which I did at the time. Just ran a Google search on myself, and there is still no information on the internet through Google at this time.

So you're not the attorney on North Whitley Drive?

I think that worrying about Cloud Computing and whether the cloud is secure is missing the point - the point is, your data (docs, spreadsheets, whatever) is not on a machine in your direct control. If I'm typing a letter saying "Thank you for your business," then I'm not worried about The Cloud. If I'm keeping financial records of a business which may or may not go public in the near future, then I want to be sure that those records stay on this network, in this building, and noplace else.

I'm always a bit amazed when reading some members comments about how happy they are with Chrome. I sort of understood it once, when it was so much faster than other browsers, but that is no longer true. I guess that I can't be too snotty about it, because I still haven't weaned myself from GMail.
