Windows 8 starts to come into focus

Windows 8 starts to come into focus

I get questions periodically about whether Windows 7 marks the end of the Microsoft operating system road.

Some users wonder whether will Microsoft’s next version of Windows be completely cloud-based? Will it be Midori with the Windows name slapped on it?

No and no. The bottom line: Windows isn’t done when Windows 7 is released to manufacturing (most likely in late fall 2009). Windows 8 has been on the drawing board/planning stages for a while now. And as the “Codename Windows” blog recently reported, Microsoft is starting to hire developers specifically for Windows 8.

Thanks for that echrada ,I think it is a bit early for MS to be even talking about Windows 8 until they get 7 launched and off the ground fully,it reminds me of the time when we were kids,we were all coming down the stairs on christmas morning and my younger sister stopped ,and we all had to stop aswell because she was the first on the stairs below us,and she turned to us and said "Do you know what I am going to get of Santa Claus NEXT YEAR,

I agree. Of course not. Maybe more integrated with cloud computing, however NO considering the bandwidth caps ISPs have imposed on users.

Hm, let's see, 755,000,000 hits on Google for the query "Windows 8" as of Thursday, April 23, 2009. I'll check again in a couple of years :|.
