Jeez, doesnt anyone do image backups? I can thrash the hell out of my system, inject the worst viruses or even format my OS partition and be back to perfect running condition in under 10 minutes.

doesn't a beta SP or even a leaked Beta completely defeat the purpose of an SP? I mean, the SP add some features, but also fixes bugs that were not addressed in the original due to lack of time and experience. Now you go ahead and install something that isn't fully tested yet either. Also not sure how it will play with any other W7 updates and SP.
Unless one has problems with W7 that need immediately resolved by the SP, I don't get it. i used the RC1 because it was so much better than Vista, so it is not like I mind trying out new things.
Service Pack 1 is a natural step in the evolution of Windows operating systems, and SP1 for Windows 7 makes no exception to this rule. Just as it was the case with the service packs for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, the first SP for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will upgrade both platforms. However, customers must be aware of the fact that Microsoft has promised to deliver nothing more than a minor upgrade for the latest iteration of its Windows client and server operating systems. Not that Windows 7 RTM needs SP1 to be ready for adoption, with corporations such as Intel already upgrading thousands of seats to Build 7600, and breaking the mold of waiting for the first service pack before they upgrade.

cheers for the read crispy, seems like its just what we knew all along, its basically a nice roundup of all the fixes that have been released so far
No problem I'm hoping that this service pack will fix allot of compatibility issues with x64 bit applications and hardware drivers.
