Microsoft to release version of Windows 7 next week Quote: SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp said on Friday a version of its long awaited Windows 7 operating system will be made available from next week.
The version, known as a 'release candidate', or RC, essentially means the world's largest software company is in the final stages of completing the operating system, the successor to the unpopular Windows Vista.
Microsoft said the RC will be available for download by program developers and IT professionals subscribing to the MSDN and TechNet networks on April 30 and available more broadly on May 5.
The company has still not said when the finished version would begin to be installed on PCs or available to buy in shops, but the company's chief financial officer said on Thursday it could be as early as July. Reuters | My System Specs |

Just in time! But let's not get the hopes up too fast either.
It's likely the July release would come out for companies to prepare their own fall line up of new models seeing Vista with the free upgrade option or even 7 preinstalled while still on retail shelves. That allows the companies time to see to all driver and prepackaged software options there. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, XP Mode, W8 RP VM, Linux Mint Debian 2nd OS HD- 7 Pro x64 second case CPU AMD Phenom II X4 975 Deneb 3.6ghz - 965 on new mini tower Motherboard Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Memory Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1600 1.5v 16gb - Mushkin on 2nd build Graphics Card MSI HD Radeon 5750 1gb - MSI HD Radeon 6450 on mini tower Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer - Realtek onooard 2nd case Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen - HP 20" widescreen mini towe Screen Resolution 1440x900 native - 1600x1024 on 7 Pro x64 build Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor - MS Comfort 3000 on second build Mouse MS Trackball Explorer - A4TECH dual scroll wheel trackball PSU Corsair 750TX - primary / Corsair CX600 - second Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible / NZXT Vulcan mini tower Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives Primary Ultimate x64 build-

Windows 7 Release Candidate Update - Windows 7 Team Blog - The Windows Blog
Windows 7 Release Candidate Update Quote: There certainly has been a lot of discussion about Windows 7 in the last few weeks. A lot of folks want to know when they can get their hands on the official RC, when we are going to RTM, and what I had for breakfast.
I’m pleased to share that the RC is on track for April 30th for download by MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Broader, public availability will begin on May 5th.
On behalf of everyone here, I would to thank all of our beta testers for helping us get to this point. You guys have been busy. At the peak of the feedback cycle, we were receiving a “Send Feedback” report every 15 seconds for an entire week. Since then, the engineering team has been busy analyzing the feedback, fixing bugs, and working hard to improve the overall experience. Many of your suggestions helped us refine the new and improved taskbar, the behavior of Aero Peek, Touch, Windows Media Player, and much more. In case you have missed the previous E7 blog entry outlining some of these changes in detail, you can read about them here and here.
Be sure to check back with us next week… And by the way, I had eggs for breakfast :-) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Black Shadow OS Win7 x64 CPU i5-3570K Motherboard Asrock Z77 Extreme4 Memory 2x4GB Mushkin 2133 Graphics Card PCS+ HD7870 LE Mystic Sound Card X-Fi Extreme Music Monitor(s) Displays Dell U2412M Screen Resolution 1920x1200 PSU Corsair 750TXV2 Case Coolermaster HAF 912 Cooling Corsair A70 Hard Drives Plextor M5P 128GB /

It's fine, I know it's the same old information, I just thought that little bit was interesting.
I wouldn't know dinesh, I don't get Microsoft insider information. You're guess would be as good as mine. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Airbot 2.0 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 920 (D0) @ 4Ghz, *26c idle *65c full load on air Motherboard Asus P6X58D Premium - Sata 6Gb/s - USB 3.0 Memory 12GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator -CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 at 1600MHz Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 -Aftermaket Accelero Xtreme Plus cooler Sound Card ASUS Xonar D2X Monitor(s) Displays 1 LG 24" Flatron W2453V-PF 1 Samsung 24" P2450H both 2ms RT Screen Resolution 1920x1080@60hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless MK700 Mouse Logitech Wireless MK700 PSU Corsair HX1000W Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Case Fans *3 230mm, *1 140mm/CPU - *Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Hard Drives 1 OCZ Vertex2 180GB SSD

For those wanting to pay out $349US for a Technet Plus subscription they get to... blah blah blah... Buy, Renew or Upgrade Your TechNet Plus Subscription
and of course download the RC1 on thursday.
For the rest who simply signed for testing it will be on the following tuesday being May 5th. If 7 was out in July why rush to pay for a subscription for just the RC alone when you'll paying that for the retail release anyways if the pricing is the same for 7? by simply waiting the additional 5 day wait?
The likelihood of the July time frame suggests oem out to HP, Dell, and others for preparation before any fall line up of new premade systems with 7 on them. That provides time for planning prepackages software options as well as the free upgrade offer being seen for Vista after July 1st. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, XP Mode, W8 RP VM, Linux Mint Debian 2nd OS HD- 7 Pro x64 second case CPU AMD Phenom II X4 975 Deneb 3.6ghz - 965 on new mini tower Motherboard Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Memory Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1600 1.5v 16gb - Mushkin on 2nd build Graphics Card MSI HD Radeon 5750 1gb - MSI HD Radeon 6450 on mini tower Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer - Realtek onooard 2nd case Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen - HP 20" widescreen mini towe Screen Resolution 1440x900 native - 1600x1024 on 7 Pro x64 build Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor - MS Comfort 3000 on second build Mouse MS Trackball Explorer - A4TECH dual scroll wheel trackball PSU Corsair 750TX - primary / Corsair CX600 - second Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible / NZXT Vulcan mini tower Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives Primary Ultimate x64 build-

Ya it seems like they will hand out OEM copies to big boys like Dell and Acer by July.
The success of Windows 7 will actually depend on how good it runs on these OEM computers as majority of people still uses a branded computer instead of custom build. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Samsung NP530U4B-S02IN OS Windows® 8 Pro (64-bit) CPU Intel® Core™ i5 Processor 2467M (1.60GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Motherboard Samsung Electronics Memory 6GB DDR3 System Memory at 1,333MHz (on BD 4GB + 2GB x 1) Graphics Card AMD Radeon™ HD7550M 1GB DDR3 (Ext.
