Windows 7 Ultimate x64

I installed the Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows 7 on my MSI AA1511-001US (barebones AE2020) All-In-One with its optical multi-touch screen. It's a nice demonstration of what multi-touch is about. My 13 year-old granddaughter took to it naturally; "It's a big iPhone or iPad.", she said. Real touch enabled applications work smoother than ones that take the touch interface to be the mouse. Even the touch enabled IE8 can be pretty wild when you use it that way. It's going to take me a little getting used to. Some things just happen too quickly. I think I need a training wheels mode for working with photographs. It takes a split second and the wrong flick of a finger to spin out of control. Luckily, there is undo.

One of the main reasons I got this MSI AIO was to learn and understand how to use a multi-touch interface. Like anything with a phyical analog element, it takes some practice to know how to move effectively. It some ways it's learning to ride a bicycle. What I found kind of ironic about my granddaughter taking to it so easily, was that she would resort to the keyboard and mouse for some things, such as entering characters. The on-screen keyboard is pretty good, and the handwritting recognition is good too, but it was easier for her to type "facebook" on the keyboard. I'll be looking into voice recognition soon.

They state that they improved and added aot of features to the single input panels as well, yet you can't install it unless your screen is multi touch? That bums me out, mine is Touch but only single. Anybody know of any other Touch programs that are out there?
