Blippy users' credit card #s show up in Google

Not sure if anyone uses Blippy, but if you do, you might want to check on google for your card number. I just did a search, and the problem has not been resolved yet.

Sharing your credit card and online purchases with friends on the web sounds risky and it is. We’ve just discovered that several credit card transactions shared on social networking site Blippy have been exposed — with full credit card numbers included — in Google search results.

I'm sure there is a page somewhere that shows google searches live so it's not a good idea to google your credit card number.

Yeah, consider anything you type into Google search to then become Google property and stored, indexed and retrievable either now or at some time in the future...

Well, at this point it doesn't really matter, seeing as how there are a ton of card numbers up right now. Talk about a massive privacy/security failure.

    No kidding...

First off who was thinking it was a good idea to give your credit card number to a website that will display what you are buying.

I can't believe people do that. Do people not care at all about security? So sad.

I understand the Google is under investigation by the EU for violation of privacy laws. Hopefully they will get an appropriate treat. The EU works slowly, but once they take out the big hammer, the accused is in trouble big time.
