It's amazing to me that in 2010 we are talking about Windows 8. Windows 7 was just released, and if I were a betting man, which I'm not, I doubt that businesses are going to upgrade to Windows 8 just less than 2 years after the current OS was released in full version.
We are converting to Windows 7 now, but I cannot see myself turning around in 18 months and converting to Windows 8. What a hassle.

Indeed for some it's still a new Op system and many are just getting use to it. But for many of us here in this forum who have already been using Windows 7 for over 15 months, it's old news. We just want something new to play with.
But I agree that the cost of another upgrade will be a problem for many. I suspect there will be a less expensive path to Windows 8 with another upgrade option. I expect we will see more improvments to the GUI along with something to simplify networking.

It is - if you are networking all Win 7 computers. If you are networking computers of mixed OS's, it is needlessly convoluted. Judging by the number of folks posting here with networking problems, clearly the process of networking in Win 7 is complex and/or the instructions and help provided are not geared toward those of us who are novices at networking. It is definitely not intuitive in Win 7.

This sounds like a call to all pirates to crack windows 8 when it does come out. The more they fight to make money the more people who believe information should be free will ban together and break what ever locks M$ comes up with. I find it funny that religion likes to keep its people stupid and software and everyone else trying to protect there products are also trying to keep us stupid while teaching pirates more ways to get what they want, they get the info and the rest of us pay so they can learn. The more I think about that last statment the more it makes sense. MS creates harder to crack security which cost money to create, so they charge us more, which in turn the pirates crack it, they need to patch the crack and again spend more money on it which all comes out of OUR pockets.
MS Stop worrying about your bottom line and give the world a better product not something locked down and hidden. MS you want my money they develop something worth paying for like windows 7.
I know a lot of people won't like what I have said but its the truth MS must love pirates on the inside cause it gives them the excuse to charge even more.
