Unlike the compatibility issues seen between XP and Vista you shouldn't run into too many to start with between Vista and 7. So far the RCs have already acted like finished versions for the most part. So far only one old 2003 XP program won't run on the 64bit while still working out on the 32bit RC there.

The only information I was hearing about was the loss of functionality in some way not seeing the system shut itself off on a timer. Once the date is reached it simply won't boot up and run any longer in order to be any type of usable OS.

Besides if all goes well not too many will even be running the RCs when the expiration date is finally reached to begin with. Despite the tight economy I suspest copies of 7 will be as the expression goes "flying off of retail shelves"! once it's out!

    "Removing the RC

The Windows 7 RC will stop working on June 1, 2010. To continue using your PC, please be prepared to reinstall a prior version of Windows or the final released version of Windows 7 before the expiration date. We recommend doing a custom (clean) installation." http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...tructions.aspx

Just dropping a line to say my install of windows RC1 7100 went perfectly...
however im having problems locating the Advanced Appearance settings so as to reduce the spacing size between icons and text in such places as the desktop

I have added a pic sowing how i would get to it in vista, however when i try to do the same in 7 it just takes me back to the screen where you an select the desktop wallpapers and themes..... is this something that is still broken in 7..... not sure how or where to report it now since the feedback icon is no longer in this build
