You may have heard by now, but Facebook doesn’t really care about your privacy one bit. At least that’s the impression left in the minds of many these days.

To compound the problem, Facebook has been less than open about the privacy concerns. And nothing makes PR worse than ignoring people who are complaining.

Everyone should seriously consider whether to stay or go.

If people think the privacy issues are bad now, imagine a year or two down the road. What will Facebook look like then?

Sad thing is that when Zuckerberg back-peddles on the privacy issue once or twice a year, he rams similarly designed privacy (or lack thereof) policies into the new user agreement.

I have slowly been deleting stuff from my account for some time now. I have been taking my account to the bare bones minimum...I still find it useful to keep in touch and arrange social events but the privacy thing that's been going on has go me worried.

At what point do you see Facebook falling?

Do you think that many people will leave?

    Security and Facebook

If I wrote something on the wall, should I complain because someone read it. Security and Facebook = a paradox. Nothing is safe on a computer, cell phone, WiFi device etc. That is why for me cloud computing will never get it. At least here at home I can pull the plug. I was never inclined to display my personal business or thoughts on WWW. I guess I am just now with it.

Facebook is not going to fail. The vast majority of their users don't even understand security. Several high profile accounts have been canceled and users are making a lot of noise. I have gotten to the point where I do not trust facebook any more than I trust Google - and that isn't very much trust.
