Is there even a x64 flash player yet? I was happy i was going to use the x64 IE, but the it said there was no x64 flash player.
Nice. Even though I primarily use Chrome, I like to keep FF on my machine too. It's awesome that they are finally officially releasing an x64 version.
Firefox x64 has been available for quite a while now. It is called "Minefield" and no, there is NO flash for it. I have been posting this exact issue for some time now and don't understand why Adobe is not being raked over the coals for the lack of x64 flash.
All these posts demonizing Apple for not allowing flash on their products and Adobe isn't even supporting their own product.....there has been a promise from Adobe of Windows x64 flash for what....1-2 years now (According to Adobe's propaganda it should have been available in version 10.0) and now with 10.1 still no progress, just a lot of whining about how maligned and mistreated they are.
This has been one of the bigger bars to adoption of the x64 platform by mainstream users and a total disservice to computer users in general. Why are we being forced to use x86 browsers just because Adobe cannot or will not support/upgrade/improve their own flash product.
I for one will be glad to watch flash player relegated to the trash heap where it belongs once a suitable replacement has become mainstream and it IS coming despite everything Adobe does to prevent it. The only thing they had to do was "GET ER DONE" Adobe. But in their arrogance they seal their own fate and like SCO Unix they begin their slow decent into mediocrity and finally fade into the sunset with the other products/companies that could have been.....how sad.
Meh. Installed it tonight...everytime I go to launch it, I get a "application could not launch because msvcr100.dll is missing" message. It seems to be a Visual C++ file. Seeing as how I just clean installed yesterday, and have installed the Visual C runtimes...well, it just seems like a big PITA.
I'm sure once they put out an official x64 build, this won't happen...but it's never happend with any of the x64 Minefield or Shiritoko builds that I've used before.
Be patient and adobe will release 64 version, and there are many 64 users will demand for it I'd say:)
Not likely. At least anytime soon. They seem to have some unknown reason as to why they haven't made it yet for Windows.
Do they know there's a high demand for it for a long time now? Absolutely.
Are they just not bright enough to make it happen? Very unlikely.
Couldn't tell you why. To me, they seem to have some unknown reason no ones know of, as to why they haven't or won't ever do it. I won't be holding my breath.
maybe that's their marketing strategy which eventually benefit them more than the costumers itself .
Indeed it's been a while and i agree with what aaron said. Maybe they are thinking that making flash for 64user will bring no profit to them?. That's ridiculous if they do think like that
