Well, we need to get it out of there and bring it back to life! Anyone seen the Tablet of Ahkmenrah lying around?

In all seriousness though, we need to recover that idea. History shows us that when people surrender personal responsibility to government, very very bad things happen...

We'd have to find and reinstate 'common sense' first. That's the first and most paramount key to this puzzle

We can do it. An estimated 2/3 of Americans still believe in "old-fashioned" ideas such as "personal responsibility," "common sense," and "accountability." Hopefully the numbers are still similar in Australia and other countries.

Hey, did you know we use these ideas here on these forums, when performing tech support? A lot of the advice we give out encourages people to adopt "common sense" and "personal responsibility" when dealing with computers!

That's the sad irony - it still exists in abundance, yet somehow the minority have tricked us into believing otherwise...

All that's missing is a united front.

As it stands, those of us who do remember and still daily practice / acknowledge 'common sense, personal responsibility and accountability' need a serious prod to help us tell the few that 'play times over' and for them to step aside and let logic reign once more.

Unfortunately, I lament that the prod may come too late

The minority tricks people into believing that a LOT of things are "fringe," "radical," and "dangerous." In reality, the ideas they criticize are the very ones that used to ensure our freedom and prosperity before the minority started messing with them, introducing double standards and relativity.

You are absolutely right about the united front, and the fact that we're talking about this same issue from opposite sides of the globe shows that that is still possible.

We're getting prodded by various issues over here, and it looks like the censorship thing is prodding people over there. Hopefully enough people will "wake up" in time to take action. If there is one thing we still control in both our respective governments, it is this: who is and who is not a lawmaker.
