From the login.live.com site you may see the wlsetup.exe or wlsetup-custom.exe files for download and installation off of the finished release site there. There's also a wltoolbar.exe for the Live toolbar as another web installer.
The name for this one however is the wlsetup-webd.exe that downloads direct from the beta site totally separate there.
I saw that when the download and installation was proceeding. The other files if stored locally on the drive still work however since this one is intended for the beta version not the already final version presently in use.
For anyone looking for other then Wave 4 those other two would be used or simply going to the live site for either logging in or seeing a new WL id created when going to set up a new account.
The beta version did go on and work but as mentioned way back in the thread saw the tuner card application plus shortcut pinned on the taskbar removed as well as shutting down the existing av program services actually making it unusable. The Live safety scanner may have clashed with the firewall the av program offers when seeing that happen.
I like the image sharing feature in Windows Live Messenger where you can quickly search for an image and quickly share it in the convo.
You also have a file transfer option through the messenger where you can assign your own receiving folder and install the Live Safety scanner to prevent any bugs hopefully from being transferred over from one machine to another.
if you right click a contact and choose edit contact it comes up with their profile details, you can enter a nickname, sign out of msn and sign back on and the nickname comes up.
not sure how to directly get to that page but everyone will have to enter a nickname in their profile or else it will show full name
i hate this new beta, there's no block feature, i can't chat to someone while appearing off9. It's so messy. Hope microsoft won't force us to install this when it's due for official release.
Does anyone know how to stop messenger from always wanting to connect when I'm browsing an msn site e.g. www.msn.co.uk ?
It's bl***y annoying!!
