What about your kid? Does MySpace need three applications? 1.) Firefox. 2.) Multi-messenger 3.) iTunes. Looks like everything a kid does.

EDIT: Atom coupled with NVidia ION graphics are the future. Check out the Acer AspireRevo. Acer Aspire Revo SFF NVIDIA Ion PC - HotHardware I'm thinking about waiting for this to make a CarPC.
    Dude...myspace hahahaha who uses that crock...it's facebook's world now.lol

Anyways, for all those arguing the ARM...it is stale, cant decode h264 properly, no matter who claims it is powerfull enough. And to put it bluntly, PDA and cells are going to that format...so yes, the Atom can do that codec fine, and it is also in 2 core format as well... www.oqo.com (uses the dual core Atom Z540 @ 1.86GHz) that is the future!!!!!!!!! The only thing the ARM supporters is right on is the cost. But when price is not an issue...ARM becomes that guys more powerfull (hah) C-64 which is made for a museum...which the user probably belongs in too.
For the record, netbook processors are ram dependant, if you think it is weak, put in better and more ram...it can outpreform a P4 1.6 ghz if you know how to tweak your OS and computer right...and the new atom n280 can play 720p smooth with no tweaking like the n270...i would kill to see an ARM do that...BTW, MIPS is replacing ARM until the atom is cheaper for the record.

yeah, myspace is totally last years news... But h264 decoding works on my phone and it has an ARM processor. I'm not sure where you are getting your information from :) And by the way, I was the one that stated the price was the issue for why it was still arm over atom. And the arm argument wasn't for netbooks, if you read it you'd have noted we were talking about the atom not making it into the small electronics market (which ARM still owns heavily, with MIPS making a small dent, either way, they're both RISC processors).

Hah, actually, that's not entirely true, but I'm not talking about an arm processor running windows 7 :) I'm talking about atom processors not entering into the small electronic market. right now arm processors own 98% of the cell phone market and 3/4 of the 32 bit market is ARM processors. This is because an ARM processor in a phone, or MP3 player etc is all you need. You don't need a full blown atom processor which is 20x the price for small electronics which just decode mp3, or just deal with the temperature in your house, or your remote control etc etc etc...

well, the main reason for these limitations on the starter edition, is that it is made for the undeveloped 3rd world countries. If you look it up, it will tell you that, just like the Vista Starter Edition was.

Exactly tbh people in thirdworld countrys probably aren't even used to using computers and wouldn't need to run more than three apps at a time.

Does any 1 else get the feeling that this version might be the free upgrade M$ are offering to customers that buy a new system pre-installed with vista?

Upgrades are to the equivalent version. They know better than to play a game like that.

Do Home Premium Vista with the Computer, get Home Premium Windows 7. Do Vista Business, Get Windows 7 Professional. Do Vista Ultimate, get Windows 7 Ultimate. See link.
