I would not test it on my machines. Don't have one to spare.
The only betas I even bother with come from MS servers! Sorry! Those are pretested and ready for human consumption! This other stuff found elsewhere is .... always suspect! and certainly nothing to bother with.
Last year I ran one 64bit RC install on one drive from the May release of that until November and not one problem! The SP2 beta for Vista ran nicely for six months until the RCs took over last summer!
I will be waiting more likely for the final SP1 since it won't be adding anything but the 25 updates seen so far and some new support for remote desktops. Like someone pointed out 7 was the first to come out of the box without a need to rush at a service pack! Works for me!
Yeah, i'm not experiencing any issues and I don't have any interest in getting to SP1. I'll likely hold off for awhile once it's actually released just to make sure it's fine.
I'm excited for the official release, and that is it. I usually try out betas for software, but not for an OS that can wreck everything.
I hope this SP1 will not screw up performance and usability of the current build... I really like W7 as it is now. Maybe it includes fixes for USB devices (lke some USB sticks) that would be nice...
See ya!!!
Once the beta becomes generally available you will likely see one or more regular updates out by that time. One or two a month as well as more details on just what will be seen in the final SP1 will be known then. The recent indications point mostly at the usual roll up of updates and some additional support for remote desktops.
you can get the beta from nzbindex.nl if you have a usenet account, i already got it few days back, but dont feel like installing it
I've already had a go at one of the "releases" and had no noticeable issues with it, though I'm now going to wait until it's offered on TechNet as a Windows 7 / SP1 integrated ISO and then I'll just do a clean install with that.
