Windows Anytime Upgrade Offer Expires

Quote:
This is very big, breaking news: Microsoft has just announced June 28 that the Windows Anytime Upgrade (WAU) offer will be ending on this Saturday, July 3, 2010. However, this is in the United States ONLY; so if you live anywhere OUTSIDE the U.S. then, supposedly, you are safe.

Currently, with the purchase of any new PC, you can upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium for $49.99 (normally $79.99) or from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional for $79.99 (normally $89.99). This great deal is going away this Saturday.

Furthermore, you should be happy to know that, although the offer is going away, you will still be able to use Windows Anytime upgrade to upgrade your copy of Windows using WAU. The only thing that will be leaving this Saturday is the price chop.

Windows Anytime Upgrade is built into every version of Windows 7 except Ultimate (which can’t be upgraded) and is a way for customers to swap their version for a better one, for instance upgrading Home Premium to Professional or Ultimate.
