Sounds like Dell identified and took care of the problem. This is not the first company that has shipped something like this and won't be the last.

There is now a potential security problem that Microsoft has found from USB Memory Keys that are being shipped from some key vendors with the malicious code on the keys. That is not a "Dell" problem.

Years ago we had problems with techs and corrupted maintenance floppy diskettes that were infected from one customer's PC and then the tech would use it on the next customer and unknowingly infect the next customer that the tech worked on. Even had that at one time with some IBM equipment we had.

As it was said in a post a while ago where i stated my hate of Dell, and as they said, DELL pcs are made on a line and can also be quite cheap.

But as we all know, you get what you pay for.

Considering the size of Dell as a company and how many machines they actually put out, combined with their A+ customer service. I think they are one of the best if not the best manufacturers in the industry. Honesly, which one could you say is hands down better then Dell as a whole?

IDK, but Dell lost the #1 PC spot to HP a few years ago. Not sure what that picture looks like now.

I believe Dell just recently took over the #2 spot again from Acer. HP is still #1.

In my opinion, HP only sells so many computers because they are cheaper than anyone else. Every HP one of my friends at school have has hard some kind of hardware issue, like the battery health failing after 6-8 months on two of them. The web cam stop working on two of them, and the fans suddenly stop working one day on one. A friend also just had her HP charger stop working after having the computer for three months A couple people have Toshibas and to my knowledge haven't had a problem. A couple others also have Dell laptops and the main problems seem to be HDD and ram related, because Dell had been getting those from the cheapest makers possible until recently. I understand that all computers are capable and likely to have issues, it seems to me that HPs are the most prevalent.

Keep in mind those are just my experiences and/or opinions based on those experiences and like they say, "mileage may vary."

In my opinion HP makes better printers but i would have to give the edge to Dell as far as servers and PC's go. Thats just based on my own experience with the products. Idk how HP is bigger then Dell, it seems like every school and business contracts through Dell even the US military has a contract with dell. And isnt MR. Dell one of the richest men in the world? i know he was #4 at one point a few years ago.

Yes and my experience with Dell has been just fine. I've been involved in deploying thousands of workstations and countless servers. Service levels have been great, and repairs quick and speedy. No real complaints about Dell as a whole.

I will only purchase Dell or HP computers for my company, and Dell is always about 5-10% cheaper, at least on the business side.
