Corsair H50 temps I like the Corsair H50 water cooler, great price and it works. The hoses COULD BE a lot less stiff though.....i feel the uber stiff hoses are causing a lot of stress on the radiator pipes........just my 2 cents
IDLE temps (about an hour sitting idle) on left, FULL CPU load temps (using PRIME95) on right. | My System Specs |

further updates after a (few weeks) of using the H50!
while i have NOT had any probs temp-wise or leak wise, i do feel that Corsair should do the following:
- softer hoses!!! softer hoses!!!! softer hoses!!!!! geeebus man....the hoses that come with the cooler are more rigid than the copper plumbing in my house! they are putting strain on the inlet/outlet pipes of the rad BIGTIME......where most of the leaks have been reported (cracked inlet/outlet pipes).............
HOWEVER, that rant aside, i like the system.......i like the fact one can mount the rad and CPU heatsink/pump any way
I like the compactness, price and overall looks of the unit
and i cannot argue with the low temps i get........ | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number homebuilt OS WIN7 Ultimate, 64bit OEM CPU i5-750 quad core Motherboard MSI P55-GD55 (MS-7589) (CPU1) Memory 8GB dual channel DDR3 @ 668MHZ (9-9-9-24) 4 x 2GB each Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD5750 Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays LG widescreen LCD 1920 x 1080 FLATRON Keyboard generic Mouse microsoft wireless PSU SEASONIC M-12D 850 watt sli ready Case ANTEC DARK FLEET (biggest one they make) Cooling case: 6 x 120mm fans 2 x 140mm fans, CPU: Corsair H50 Hard Drives 2 x WD 500 GB SATA drives, room for 8 more in the drive bays. 1 WD USB 320 GB used for backup the system. I looked at one of these but
1). Seems to be a messy look to me. Cannot do much with the hoses and such
2). Reviews don't seem to show that temps are all that low with this cooler compared to others in the same price area. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

Ditto - I like the idea behind it, and they do perform quite adequately, but are still outperformed by some air coolers.

Comparing it to a stock Intel heatsink isn't really saying anything. How about some comparisons to the H50???
And the one review they link to isn't saying a whole lot either.... Computer Ed

My new heatsink the Zalman ShenZhen hp-92f-02a that I bought on my vacation in China gives me about the same temperatures as the Intel stock hsf although I did put a little too less thermal paste on it (about 1/3 of a pea size and also atempted to spread the thermal paste over the cpu with a index card without much avail). The hsf costed 65yuan including shipping which converts to just under $10.
Pics of the Zalman ShenZhen hp-92f-02a are attached.

Reason: added price of hsf

From what I have read, I'm not sure the 240 is worth 2.5x as much as the Corsair H50.

Pics of the Zalman ShenZhen hp-92f-02a are attached. You aren't supposed to spread around the thermal paste. You are intended to let it spread out on it's own. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD
