AMD overdrive multiplier

hey there,

i decided i wanted to try out overclocking. I bought a BE processor with the idea to overclock.

when i bump up the multiplier in AMD overdrive it only does the first core, so it seems atleast.

also, if i bump the AMD overdrive to 10 the multiplier is 17, vs the normal 16 doesnt seem that much to me?

is this how AMD overdrive is supposed to act or is something wrong?

thanks in advance

DD

Maybe you have the box checked that says something like 'apply for all cores'.
If you are in novice mode, switch to advanced mode under the preferences tab on the top.

AMD Overdrive is software on your Motherboard install disc? I take it...if so uninstall it and use the Bios to do your overclocking.
Overclocking software for the most part is dodgy so use your Bios

Overclocking software is good if your looking for a quick and dirty overclock, though half the time the overclock it gives is unstable.

If you want to maximize your performance to watt usage, and get the best overclock, you have to get your hands dirty and work in the BIOS.

hey,

thanks for your replies, i decided not to OC anymore after a really hot weekend (my cpu became 60 degrees where it can handle 62, even with a cooler master 212 plus)
