i have a foxconn blackops motherboard,qx6700 core2extreme and 8 gb corsair xms3.
can i just turn up the cpu multiplier and leave the other settings?

Well, if you are asking about ocing, it is more complicated than that.

Yes, you can oc it by turning up the multip., go 1 by 1.

It may happen that you're computer doesn't boot, in that case get out the motherboatd battery (sometimes under the gfx card) for a minute and then put it back to reset ur settings.

I do not recommend adjusting any voltages if you haven't ocd in the past, you only need to change that if you are doing heavy ocing.

Also please download coretemp, and check you're temps Now, they should b under 60°C (/ 140°F)
If it below 50°C you can start overclocking.

But again DO NOT change voltages.
