Overclocker Pushes AMD FX-8150 Processor to 8GHz

Quote:
Barring any last minute delays, AMD is expected to finally launch its Bulldozer processor line tomorrow, as was reportedly confirmed by U.S. retailer Micro Center just over a week ago. That's good news for AMD fans. Even better news is the fact that these chips should come with plenty of overclocking headroom, provided you're prepared to push the pedal to the metal.

My real question is whether you need to push to 8ghz to reach current Intel performance with this new Bulldozer CPU.

Why are people pushing to see how high it can go...let us know how it does right out of the box. Is that too much to ask.?? I'm afraid that out of the box, it's not terribly impressive, thus requiring the massive overclock.

Yep, I'd rather see a stable high clock out of the box as well.
