You have to admit though they perform very well, while it may be loud, heat wont be much of an issue in almost any build if you pair the H100 and its stock fans with some nice thermal paste. I initially replaced my default fans with silver stone air penetrators, but with them in, the difference between the stock cooler and the H100 is small to say the least.
Currently I am working on an RMA for my H100 as the unit itself hums and only adds to the noise, but once I get it back I will experiment with fans. I have considered noctuas, but they are generally quiet at the expense of performance, and I have learnt that performance should come above all else.
just to rock the boat a bit more
another good thing about corsairs air series fans is the price. most places are selling them in twin packs for £18.99. TWO for less then one Noctua
as for the stock corsair fans i have not heard how loud they are. both my H50 and H100 got unpacked and the fans were binned
cougar voretx all the way for me.
a couple of days ago i thought id see how the cpu temps would change by using the middle speed setting on the h100. i wasnt expecting much of a difference though.
cougar vortex on the min speed setting my cpu idled @ 36c. load was 45c in IBT and 43c in BF3.
on the middle setting idle temp30 and BF3 39c. ive not done IBT again yet
thats with my cpu @4Ghz @ 1.332v
