Mod a 3.5" card reader drive so it has room inside for a 2.5" ssd?

I really love my case, but it doesn't have as many drive bays as it should.
Currently I have:
5.25" blu-ray drive
3.5" SD/MMC/etc card reader drive
3.5" 1TB HDD
2.5" 60GB SSD
I want t shoehorn in a second hard drive that's over 1TB, but I have no room, unless I tape the ssd to the bottom of my BDD (which I think will be a bad idea.

But: the card reader is a bit of wasted space, as I believe al the internals are capable of fitting itno a 1-1.5" section in the front, with room for s 2.5" ssd tjat doesn't stick out too much.

my question is:

has anyone ever modified a 3.5" card reader drive so they can fit a 2.5" drive inside it (not externally accessible, as it's the boot drive). I have never seen a premade version of this.

thanks.

I'm sure you could do it.

I have a homemade NAS inside the carcass of an old printer...

Oh no, it was a very kaput printer... the idea was that nobody would ever think of there being an NAS inside an old Epson printer shell...

I've previously added drives and other stuff the PCI card backplanes with a little 'meccano' type DIY, I'm sure you could possibly figure out a way to do that...

Actually, is there any reason why using double-sided foam tape to stick a SSD to the bottom of a Blu-ray drive is a bad idea?

Better to use some cable ties and nothing sticky...

Newegg has some 3.5" USB panels which have mounting for a 2.5" SSD or HDD.
