RAM Latency

I'm stumped as to why there is such a big difference between Maxxmem and Aida64 when reporting RAM Latency time. As you can see, the other results are similar but the latency is a lot different.

I'm hoping others can run comparisons and post results and hopefully we can work out why there is such a discrepancy between the 2 programs

Get Maxxmem here Get Aida64 here

I think it's common for those 2 different software to have different result ( Maxmem is a software designed especially to bench RAM while AIDA is a general software benchmark ).

Now I'm in my office with very old PC, and just did the comparation, here the SS.

Now that I know it's not just happening to me I'd like to know the different testing methodologies used. One must be more reliable than the other and I'm leaning more towards Aida64 (but that's just a guess)

I believe Aida64 shows the best result and Maxxmem shows the worst.

Yes, that's right.
For latency lower is better.

CAS latency
Quote:
Column Address Strobe (CAS) latency, or CL, is the delay time between the moment a memory controller tells the memory module to access a particular memory column on a RAM memory module, and the moment the data from given array location is available on the module's output pins. In general, the lower the CAS latency, the better.
Aida64 is for general hardware and Maxxmem is specifically for testing RAM.
Not really sure but, my guess is Maxxmem should be more accurate.
