I monitored the entire video exporting process in Core Temp 1.0 while running Windows Movie maker.
Intel Core i7 2720QM CPU (Sandy Bridge)
Platform: rPGA 988B (Socket G2)
Fequency: 798.34MHz (99.79 x 8.0)
Revision: D2
Lithography: 32nm
CPUID: 0x206A7
TDP: 45.0 watts[/b]
Tj. Max: 100C
Typically runs normal between 45-55C @ 3.3-3.5 watts.
While exporting video, these are the results..
Average power = 40.25-44.5 watts
Core 0 = Peak 92C
Core 1 = Peak 91C
Core 2 = Peak 92C
Core 3 = Peak 86C
The max shown above under the temp results was the peak temp reached during video export.
Please note, this was with the battery in. If I were to remove the battery, the temp would have gone down some. But, I was slightly concerned about this. I'm not quite sure why it was running so hot. It normally doesn't.
The laptop was sitting on a table. No cooling pad. Onboard fan was working fantastic.
