Odds of Getting 4.0Mhz Hello everyone i have just OC'ed my AMD 2x4 965BE, i am not looking to break any records lol but am also not trying to fry my brand new CPU, right now i am @ 3.7Mhz @ 1.35v CPUv, i think i should not have a problem getting to 3.8Mhz, i will be-satisfied at 3.8Mhz , what are my odds of reaching 4.0Mhz.
Thanks in advance | My System Specs |

Odds of 3.8 = 100% easily done with multiplier
Odds of 4.0 = 90% again done with multiplier and possible voltage increase to 1.43V

Hello, and thanks for the info, i will go for 3.8Ghz as i am more comfortable with that, i will possibly try for 4.0 at a later date, as for raising the CPU voltage for 1.35v to 1.45, assuming i will try 4.0Ghz at a later date, how much more will my temp increase, as i am still on Air cooling with a Zellman 9800 cooler, right now i am at 34C at idle and 44 to 45C at full load,

Pantz, each system responds differently, some actually go down....go figure but realistically I would expect 2-4 degrees but as mentioned each system has it's own cooling capacity. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 ! Might take 1.43 or so as linnemeyerhere, but as he also said each chip is different. My x4 955 BE hits 4 GHz no problem at just under 1.4V,
and been there since the day I got it. You may get lucky and yours is one of those that will get to 4+ without a big voltage boost. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Me OS Win 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Phenom II x4 955 @ 4 GHz. Hello all, this morning i attempted to go to 3.8 @ 1.30v. the system booted up but failed to get to the desktop had a black screen, restarted the machine and bumped up the CPU to 1.370v (normal voltage) and i was able to get to the desktop,
there was maybe a 2 degree increase in temp, but that was because i had the machine on before i attempted to go to 3.8Ghz, not from a cold overnight boot, i am happy with the 3.8Ghz for now, idle temps are at 35C, i might try 4.0Ghz at some point in the future,
Thanks for all the help | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Personal build OS Genuine windows 7X64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor Motherboard Asus Sabertoothe 990 FX R2.0 AM2+/AM2 AMD MB Memory 8 Gigs Corsair Vengance DDR3 1886 MHZ Graphics Card EVGA GTX 650 SSC Sound Card On board Monitor(s) Displays ASUS VE247H 24 inch PSU Corsair 750 Watts Case Gigabyte case Cooling Zellman 9800 Hard Drives Samsung 120GB 2.5-inch SSD 840 SATA III Internet Speed 20 megs |

Pantz, Good to hear of your success and low temps. The real test will be stability and that you can stress the system with or just bomb away and use. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 ! Hello again, I think i will just bomb away with it with some of the latest games to see how things work out, once i am satisfied with how things are running i will do a stress test, and if i am successful with the stress testing, i will attempt to go to 4.0Ghz as long as i can keep the temp relatively low, that will not happen for at least a few weeks, and once again thanks for all the help,
PS sorry for the Mhz typo.. i also remember the 8088's lol | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Personal build OS Genuine windows 7X64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor Motherboard Asus Sabertoothe 990 FX R2.0 AM2+/AM2 AMD MB Memory 8 Gigs Corsair Vengance DDR3 1886 MHZ Graphics Card EVGA GTX 650 SSC Sound Card On board Monitor(s) Displays ASUS VE247H 24 inch PSU Corsair 750 Watts Case Gigabyte case Cooling Zellman 9800 Hard Drives Samsung 120GB 2.5-inch SSD 840 SATA III Internet Speed 20 megs Odds of Getting 4.0Mhz problems?
