Cheers
Well I have it up and running at 4GHz right now. The memory, even though it is 1600 Mhz C8 vs 1600 MHz C7 on my P55 is quite a bit faster.
I didn't even have to reinstall the OS. I booted up from my drive I had on my P55, removed offending programs (old AI suite etc), installed the correct chipset software, and cleaned up remnants of old devices with the magic of device manager show hidden devices and uninstall. The only repair I have had to do is to rebuild performance counters. Saved a lot of time reinstalling programs and digging up license keys.
I also have my primary monitor on my discrete graphics card and my secondary on the integrated. There is no need for Virtu if you are using two monitors like this.
I will post some pictures when I crack the case open next - still need some SATA cable tidying up. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built (GeneO industries)/Model 2 OS Windows 7 64 bit SP1 CPU i5 2500k @ 4.5 GHz, 1.256V 120 GFlop (with AVX) Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB (4GBx4) 1600MHz G.skill Ripjaws X 8-8-8-24 Graphics Card Asus Nvidia ENGTS450, 1GB 4030 MHz DDR5 clock, 915 Mhz GPU Sound Card Onboard Realtek HD Monitor(s) Displays NEC Spectraview 2490WUXi-SV Screen Resolution 1920 x 1200 Keyboard HP Wireless Mouse HP wireless PSU Antec TruePower New 650W Case Fractal Design "Define R3" Cooling CM Hyper 212+ push/pull, 5 120mm, 1 140mm case fans Hard Drives Crucial 128GB M4 (system), 2x WD Caviar 1TB Black internal (data), 1x Seagate 750G Barracuda Internal (backups), 1x WD Blue 6Gb/s 320GB Internal, 1x Corsair F40 SSD for cache, 1x 2TB eSata WD20EARS Green, 2x 500GB Seagate external USB, 1x 350GB exte Internet Speed 25.7 Mb/s down, 4.5 Mb/s up Other Info USB 3.0 x4 , SATA III x4, eSATA x3, SATA II x4, USB 2.0 x8. 2 Samsung DVD R/W drives.

Well things are not happy in toyland. I was getting fairly frequent mouse freezes. While I was investigating that late last night I thought I had started loosing my mind. I was hearing faint voices - I had my PC speakers muted in windows. Well it started getting loader. It turns out in windows, anytime I moved the mouse or graphics changed, I was getting weird noses on my speakers. I verified that this only happened with my gts450 and not the iGPU. I doubt it is my grap[hics card, so it may be this board is already needing replaced after a couple of days | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built (GeneO industries)/Model 2 OS Windows 7 64 bit SP1 CPU i5 2500k @ 4.5 GHz, 1.256V 120 GFlop (with AVX) Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB (4GBx4) 1600MHz G.skill Ripjaws X 8-8-8-24 Graphics Card Asus Nvidia ENGTS450, 1GB 4030 MHz DDR5 clock, 915 Mhz GPU Sound Card Onboard Realtek HD Monitor(s) Displays NEC Spectraview 2490WUXi-SV Screen Resolution 1920 x 1200 Keyboard HP Wireless Mouse HP wireless PSU Antec TruePower New 650W Case Fractal Design "Define R3" Cooling CM Hyper 212+ push/pull, 5 120mm, 1 140mm case fans Hard Drives Crucial 128GB M4 (system), 2x WD Caviar 1TB Black internal (data), 1x Seagate 750G Barracuda Internal (backups), 1x WD Blue 6Gb/s 320GB Internal, 1x Corsair F40 SSD for cache, 1x 2TB eSata WD20EARS Green, 2x 500GB Seagate external USB, 1x 350GB exte Internet Speed 25.7 Mb/s down, 4.5 Mb/s up Other Info USB 3.0 x4 , SATA III x4, eSATA x3, SATA II x4, USB 2.0 x8. 2 Samsung DVD R/W drives.

Mine is in the mail. I'm curious if there is a way to disable the on board graphics in bios. wondering if the lucid logic thing may be causing feedback. yes, you can disable the onboard graphics. Further investigation reveals it does it with either the discrete or onboard graphics. I tried another graphics card I had as well. Same issue. Fresh install of windows in case it was a weird quirk. Same issue. It worked fine when I got it!
Well, I got it through Amazon. No hassle exchange, I get a new board shipped before returning the defective one through UPS dropoff. It should be on its way today.
Wish me luck and I'll wish you luck
